Observations of life in a hillside village in the Abruzzo region of Italy.
Farindola is a comune and town in the province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is located in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park.
The first Farindola International Arts Festival, FIAF was scheduled to commence in the summer of 2015 to coincide with the Sagra del Pecorino (Festival of Cheese).
FIAF was initiated by my artist brother Paul who owns a large white five-story building by the church in the historic centre of Farindola. I occupied the ‘penthouse’ with a spectacular view over the valley below and was able to use his house and studio as a base to photograph the region and the town’s festivals.
I hope you enjoy my record of the wonderful time I spent amongst the most hospitable people I have ever met.
